Our client is looking for a Bid Manager to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project. This role involves managing and submitting bids for transmission projects in Scotland, ensuring that all submissions are completed on time and positioned for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage all aspects of bids, providing subject matter expertise where required.
- Ensure effective and inspirational bid management and leadership on all tenders, while personally managing larger tender opportunities.
- Understand and interact with the overall business to project benefits to customers through proposals.
- Establish winning strategies and writing plans for quality-led bids, participating in red reviews of prequalification documents and tenders.
- Support and assist other bid team members to ensure effective bid management throughout the business.
- Coordinate the production of bids and proposals, producing costed bid plans and gaining relevant authorisations.
- Identify the skills and capabilities required to submit the bid and fulfil the contract, from in-house or third parties.
- Record, analyse, and manage issues, risks, changes, and dependencies during the bid process.
About You
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Chartered engineer or similar, with participation in affiliated bodies (e.g., Institute of Civil Engineering).
- Previous senior-level involvement in work winning within energy or civil infrastructure.
- Experience managing significant bids and submissions to win profitable work.
- Consideration will be given to candidates with backgrounds in project management or construction management looking to transition into preconstruction.
