The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 has been created to ensure seafarers welfare is protected both onshore and offshore when engaging in a staffing and recruiting process. The MLC 2006 ensures they have access to an efficient and well-regulated seafarer recruitment and placement systems. The regulation allows the supervision and control of private seafarer recruitment to ensure they are being operated in accordance with set standards.
