55MW UK SOLAR PROJECT FUNDED BY NORD/LB!

The Scruton solar plant, currently being developed by Ampyr Solar Europe in North Yorkshire, is set to be funded by Nord/LB, the German energy transition bank.

The project will feature nearly 90,000 new ground-mounted solar panels, generating clean energy for approximately 19,000 medium-sized households.

This marks the second Ampyr project to secure financing through the facility, following the Northwold Solar PV project in Norfolk, which is expected to reach its Commercial Operation Date (COD) in the first quarter of 2025.

The project's long-term viability will be guaranteed through a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD) agreement with National Grid.

Construction of the Scruton plant is due to begin in July this year, with operations expected to commence in 2026. The project’s development will continue with a second phase, which will involve the addition of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to the site.

Our client is looking for a Site Supervisor to supervise subcontractors on active utility-scale solar PV construction sites, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently within project specifications, quality standards, programme requirements and UK compliance obligations. Key Responsibilities Supervise construction activities on utility scale solar PV projects. Review technical drawings, subcontractor scopes and project documentation. Support site mobilisation, preparation and operational coordination. Oversee subcontractors and site supervisors to ensure compliance with design requirements and project specifications. Coordinate with the HSE Manager to maintain a safe working environment in accordance with CDM and UK regulations. Monitor and verify material deliveries for quality, quantity and alignment with contract requirements. Conduct site inspections and record quality outcomes using digital tools. Keep accurate daily site records and contribute to project progress reporting. Liaise regularly with site managers, project managers, subcontractors and other key stakeholders. About You Experience in solar construction projects within the UK market. Educational or professional background in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering. CSCS Gold Card or ECS Gold Card. SSSTS certification. First Aid Certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word. Confident using digital tools and reporting systems. Fluent spoken and written English. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the country. If you are interested in this role, please apply.
