CRP Subsea has won a contract to deliver cable protection systems for the 660MW Nordseecluster A offshore wind project, located in the German North Sea. The contract, awarded by ocean services provider DeepOcean, will see CRP Subsea supply 96 NjordGuard cable protection systems (CPS) to safeguard the inter-array cables from challenges such as over-bending, abrasion, and fatigue, both during installation and throughout the project's operational life.

The NjordGuard CPS will be specifically designed to meet the installation needs for monopile and J-tube interfaces. Engineering work for the project will begin immediately, with production taking place at CRP Subsea's facility in north-west England. Delivery of the systems is planned for 2026.

The Nordseecluster offshore wind project is divided into two phases. The first, Nordseecluster A, will begin offshore construction next year, with all turbines expected to be connected to the grid by early 2027. The second phase, Nordseecluster B, will add an additional 900MW, with commercial operations projected for early 2029.
