ENEFIT GREEN SURPASSES 1GW MILESTONE WITH LITHUANIA SITE
Industry NewsSource - reNews - Enefit hits 1GW milestone with Lithuanian site
Enefit Green has hit a big milestone, surpassing 1GW of total installed electricity generation capacity with the opening of the 43MW Šilalė 2 wind farm in Lithuania.
On top of that, they’ve started building the 87MW Kelme 2 wind farm, also in Lithuania, with a cornerstone-laying event to kick things off. Kelme 2 is being developed close to the 80MW Kelme 1 site, which already has its turbines up and ready.
Over in Estonia, the last turbine has been set up at the 255MW Sopi-Tootsi wind farm, which is now the biggest wind farm in the Baltics. Enefit Green noted that this wraps up the trickiest part of the project, both logistically and technologically.
As of now, 12 turbines from the Sopi-Tootsi site have already started delivering power to the grid.
With these projects moving forward, Enefit Green’s operational capacity now stands at 587MW. They’re also working on 637MW of new capacity, with 459MW already installed and around 204MW generating electricity.
