OFFSHORE WIND MILESTONE - DOGGER BANK WIND FARM PRODUCES ELECTRICITY FOR THE FIRST TIME!
Industry NewsA milestone for the offshore wind industry, as we hear the news that the first turbine of the world’s largest windfarm, Dogger Bank in the North Sea, has started to produce electricity.
Built & developed by the UK’s SSE Renewables (in a joint venture with Equinor & Vårgrønn), Dogger Bank wind farm will have a total of 277 turbines, situated off the Yorkshire Coast.
Once completed, Dogger Bank is expected to generate enough power (approx. 3.6GW) to supply electricity to six million homes across the UK.
