UK Offshore Wind Workforce to Grow by 48% by 2030

LSP Renewables welcomes new data from the ECITB revealing that the UK offshore wind workforce is expected to grow by 48% over the next five years, reaching 28,000 by 2030.

The figures come from the ECITB’s latest Labour Forecasting Tool (LFT), highlighting strong growth across the engineering construction industry (ECI) as the UK advances toward its net zero targets. In addition to offshore wind, the hydrogen workforce is forecast to increase by 195%, and other renewable sectors—such as onshore wind, solar, and biofuels—are set to grow by 20%.

Workforce demand is now projected to peak in 2030, reflecting updated project timelines and upcoming retirements in key roles. The most in-demand positions include design engineers, project managers, electrical technicians, and commissioning staff.

As a leader in renewable energy recruitment, LSP Renewables is actively supporting the industry in meeting this demand by connecting top talent with the UK’s most impactful energy transition projects.
