The successful candidate will be the primary technical interface between the EPC, ICP subcontractor, and DNO/IDNO, managing all grid-connection related communications & approvals.   Responsibilities   Define, control, and maintain the technical scope, standards, and interfaces for contestable works, including clear demarcation of contestable vs non-contestable scope and adoption requirements. Manage ICP contracts, and assure subcontractor performance against agreed programme, quality, safety, compliance, and NERS accreditation requirements, including review of resourcing and competencies. Lead technical assurance of all ICP deliverables, reviewing and approving HV/LV designs, SLDs, protection philosophies, earthing, cable calculations, and ensuring compliance with ENA, DNO/IDNO, G99/G100, BS, and client standards. Specify and manage data exchange protocols and signal lists (e.g. IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, DNP3) to ensure interoperability between WTG, OSS, and grid systems. Lead technical reviews of OEM and contractor designs, ensuring compliance with international standards, grid codes, employer requirements, and local regulations. Manage cross-package interfaces and integration, including WTG OEMs, substations, cables monitoring, metocean systems, marine coordination tools, and grid operator interfaces. Coordinate fiber optic networks, DMZ design, and remote connectivity, ensuring secure and reliable communications between offshore assets and onshore control centres. Oversee execution, testing, and commissioning activities, including FAT/HAT/SAT, end-to-end signal testing, grid code compliance testing, and operational handover. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of SCADA/OT and communications systems for utility-scale renewables or power systems; offshore wind experience strongly preferred. Deep technical expertise in SCADA architectures, PLC/RTU/IED integration, and industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, Modbus, DNP3). Proven experience managing vendors and system integrators, including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and technical acceptance processes. Conduct and oversee technical design reviews of WTG supplier documentation across mechanical, electrical, and control systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, and certification criteria. Drive engineering cost–benefit analyses to optimize turbine selection and micro-siting, focusing on AEP maximization, reliability, and LCoE reduction. Define and manage technical interfaces with foundations, electrical systems (HV/MV, SCADA), and marine operations to ensure seamless package integration. Ensure quality assurance across design documentation, analytical models, manufacturing, and site execution, including completeness of as-built documentation. Oversee manufacturing, FAT, and pre-assembly port activities, ensuring safe, feasible, and technically compliant handling, storage, and marshalling operations. Manage installation, commissioning, and energization activities, including approval of procedures, resolution of NCRs, and technical issue troubleshooting through to handover. Enable smooth O&M integration, supporting performance verification, SCADA and condition monitoring setup, and early-life operational analysis to improve reliability and reduce OPEX. Experience & Skills Minimum 10 years of hands-on technical experience in the wind industry, with deep specialization in offshore wind turbine technology. Expert-level knowledge of WTG systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), including troubleshooting, pre-assembly logistics, commissioning, and operational support. Practical experience using aero-elastic load simulation tools (e.g. Bladed, HAWC2, FLEX5) for turbine design, load assessment, and interface validation. Working knowledge of foundation design and analysis tools (e.g. SACS, SESAM, PLAXIS) to support technical interface management and design verification. Strong capability in technical analysis, design optimization, and complex problem-solving across the full asset lifecycle—from development through operations. Solid understanding of industry standards, certification, and safety requirements, including IEC standards, GWO training, and engagement with certification bodies (DNV, TÜV, LR, etc.). Experience bridging technical, commercial, and contractual requirements, supporting tendering, negotiations, and contract execution.
