Essential Qualifications and Experience: - A degree in a related discipline (Engineering or Science) or equivalent experience.- NEBOSH qualification at Certificate level or higher. - Over 15 years of relevant experience in HSSE, operational, or project roles, ideally within high hazard industries such as Chemicals, Refining, or Oil &; Gas. - Proven ability to manage complex regulatory relationships, including experience with COMAH and Environmental Permits. - Strong influencing skills, particularly with senior leaders, and a deep understanding of governance processes. Desirable Experience: - Experience with carbon capture and storage project development, construction, or operations - HSSE management experience in utilities or other low-margin, government-regulated businesses. - Familiarity with UK permits and consenting processes. - Experience engaging with local project stakeholders. Communications Manager

United Kingdom - United Kingdom

As the Communications Manager you will report directly to the managing director, who operates under the direction of the Board. Your main focus will be to develop a communications and external affairs strategy and plan to support key business objectives, including first site construction. You will employ a range of strategic activities to deliver this plan including narrative and message development, media announcements, social media content, events and stakeholder management at a national, local and trade association level. An element of the plan will working closely with shareholder government affairs teams to deliver some elements. You'll also work on crisis and issues management and there will be an element of internal communications. You'll be responsible for liaising with leaders and colleagues within the iJV to ensure continued alignment of the strategy, plan, positioning and messaging with business objectives and will need to flex this as needed. You will also lead a working group of communications and external affairs representatives from the shareholder organisations. As part of the role, you will work closely with emitter projects within the East Coast Cluster to ensure a joined-up C&EA strategy, messaging and delivery. Deliverables You will deliver a communications strategy and plan to support key business objectives. Deliverables will include but are not limited to: Narrative, key message, communications materials development Media strategy and engagement Government relations Stakeholder management, including community engagement Crisis and issues management Events and speaking opportunities, including speeches and talking points Social media Website maintenance Branding Agency management Budget management Internal communications Experience To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track-record of executing communication plans that enable business outcomes (‘head of communications’ level) and to have significant knowledge and experience of leading communications.
