Deputy Investment Manager
Our client is looking for a Deputy Investment Manager who will support their team with renewable energy market and financial analysis in Japan.
Job Responsibilities
Origination & Market Analysis: Support the identification and screening of renewable energy investment opportunities while developing expertise in Japan’s renewables market, including trends, policies, and key players.
Due Diligence & Financial Analysis: Assist or lead financial modeling, risk assessment, and structuring of acquisitions, developments, and project financing transactions.
Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Support or lead commercial, legal, and financial aspects of transactions, including term sheets, shareholder agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, and financing documents.
Investment Approval & Reporting: Prepare internal approval papers, investor materials, and professional presentations for leadership review while managing internal reporting on deal progress.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including financial, legal, and commercial advisors, regulatory agencies, and industry participants.
Your Skills
Degree or post graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial or similar level commercial or technical discipline
6-10 years experience working in Investment Banking, Private Equity or Infrastructure Funds Management with some background in the infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy sector
Possess quantitative and analytical skills to be able to conduct financial analysis, valuation and forecasting
Very strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and knowledge of securities and M&A regulations
Proactive, detail-oriented and ambitious personality with a willingness to learn
Fluent in English and Japanese.
Location
The commuting to the office next to Tokyo Station
Hybrid working style (working at the office 2~3 days per week)
