Role Overview
As an Environmental Management Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of the environmental strategy during the operational phase. Your expertise will guide the preparation and implementation of environmental management plans and procedures, ensuring that all activities align with regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Management Plans: Develop and manage Operational Environment Management Plans (OEMPs) for the project, including the Operations & Maintenance Base.
- Technical Input & Procurement: Provide technical input and oversee procurement activities from an environmental perspective.
- Contract Management: Manage environmental contractors and consultants, ensuring all deliverables meet the required standards.
- Data & Reporting: Collect and manage environmental data, and report to relevant authorities such as RDOS or the Polish Water Authority.
- Compliance Tracking: Maintain the Operational Environmental Compliance Tracker to ensure ongoing adherence to environmental permits and regulations.
- ESG Support: Assist with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) deliverables, providing subject matter expertise.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address environmental concerns and queries.
- Incident Management: Manage environmental incidents and events, including reporting and implementing mitigation measures.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a similar role, with a strong background in environmental management during the operational phase of projects.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulations and environmental permitting processes.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, fluent in both English and Polish.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to provide technical input and manage procurement from an environmental standpoint.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in managing stakeholders and cross-package cooperation.
