Our client is seeking an experienced Protection & Control Project Engineer to provide technical support across a dynamic and expanding portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Define and assess the technical scope for protection and control requirements in new and existing substations.
- Prepare scheme designs, key line diagrams, protection setting calculations, and relay setting files, while supporting IEC61850 solutions.
- Review detailed designs from third-party contractors/consultants and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Provide field support to ensure quality installations.
- Evaluate tenders and manage specialist services from consultants.
- Identify and manage engineering risks within multi-disciplinary project teams.
What Is Required:
- A minimum qualification of HND in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven technical skills in Transmission protection and control specification and scheme design.
- Ability to calculate protection settings for implementation.
- Confidence in assessing engineering problems and critically evaluating technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and demonstrate diligence.
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including CDM and ESQCR.
- Ideally, Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Experience with Protection & Control Engineering on UK projects is highly desirable.
