Senior Asset Manager - Offshore Transmission

Senior Asset Manager – OFTO We are working on behalf of a leading player in the UK’s offshore energy sector to recruit a Senior Asset Manager for the operational management of offshore transmission assets (OFTO) in Scotland. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organisation at the forefront of the UK’s decarbonisation efforts. The successful candidate will be a technically proficient and commercially astute professional, capable of managing complex electrical infrastructure while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental compliance across all operational activities Manage site safety including switching operations, safety documentation, and RAMS Oversee day-to-day operations of OFTO assets and O&M contractors Plan and coordinate maintenance activities both onshore and offshore Respond to alarms and events with in-depth asset knowledge Contribute to asset and maintenance policy development Maximise asset availability and implement operational procedures Develop contingency plans and manage projects up to £500k Provide technical input to future transmission bids Liaise with key stakeholders including transmission operators and wind farm partners Prepare business cases and report regularly to senior management Candidate Profile: Degree/HNC in electrical engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience) Proven experience in offshore wind or UK electricity supply industry Strong understanding of HSE legislation and electrical safety rules HV SAP authorisation (≥132kV) preferred Experience in fault response, asset management, and contract oversight GWO certification or willingness to obtain (training provided) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Knowledge of transformers, cables, switchgear, SCADA, and offshore structures Familiarity with Grid Code and SO-TO interface procedures IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualifications Benefits Include: 10% employer pension contribution (no employee contribution required) Private health insurance Generous parental leave policies Flexible and hybrid working options 25 days annual leave + public holidays (rising to 30 days with service) Annual and milestone bonus schemes Cycle to work scheme Company vehicle (role dependent)

This role is perfect for a SAP with experience on an established DNO Distribution Network, eager to make a significant impact. Your expertise in developing safety documentation, preparing switching schedules via PowerOn, and managing high voltage apparatus will be crucial. Additionally, you'll issue Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test, and Limitation of Access documents, ensuring compliance with Distribution Safety Rules. Key Responsibilities: - Planning and undertaking system outages as per an agreed switching schedule. - Developing and implementing safety documentation. - Preparing switching schedules via PowerOn. - Isolating and earthing high voltage apparatus. - Issuing Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test, and Limitation of Access documents. - Attending client meetings and resolving operational issues. - Supporting project concept stages and mentoring team members. - Assisting in creating outage programmes and ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation. What You’ll Bring: - Proven track record on the High Voltage distribution network. - Sound understanding of engineering policy, procedure, and legislation. - Strong decision-making skills and process improvement capabilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. - Competency as an 11kV, 33kV, or 132kV SAP on an established DNO Distribution Network. - Knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environment legislation. - Ability to work within budget and programmed timescales. - Team-oriented mindset, working well with clients, designers, and project staff. - HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications. - Full driving licence, as the role covers sites across the East of England and surrounding counties.
