Our client is looking for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project in the South UK region. The successful candidate will work closely with Design Engineers and other members of the Engineering business unit to ensure the safe, efficient, and productive execution of Overhead Lines projects. Key Responsibilities Represent the client professionally in a wide range of project situations with various internal and external stakeholders. Assist with managing compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, policy, and legislation. Co-ordinate design activities, resources, materials, and equipment. You will: Provide cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, including review and assessment of technology options, underground cable routing selection, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment of interface requirements. Support the project life cycle, including design development, risk sessions such as HAZIDs, HAZCONs, HAZOPs, construction, installation, commissioning, and completion of complex projects. These are specialist construction and programming roles that will work closely with our Project Management and Planning teams to provide technical input and advice to drive a best in class integrated construction programme for each of our HVDC Hubs (Location A / Location B / Location C / Location D). The Role Reporting into a Deputy Project Director, you will be responsible for the integration and management of the project programme, comprising of multiple complex disaggregated packages - Design, Earthworks, Building, HVDC Converter Technology, HVDC Cable, and AC Substation. You will support package Project Managers and Contract Managers in optimising the programme, scrutinising supply chain 4D digital rehearsals, managing interfaces, administering NEC3 call off contracts, management of risk, realise programme opportunities, and managing change control. This will include working with multi-disciplinary internal project teams, including Planners, and framework supply chain partners under the strategic transmission investment framework. You Will Take a leading role within the Delivery team and provide technical support to the Planning team focused on the multi-disciplinary project programme, ensuring that package interfaces are clearly understood and captured across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Play a pivotal role in the final months of the pre-construction phase – ensuring a robust, NEC3 compliant, and realistic programme is provided by each supply chain partner. Support Project Planners in producing an integrated construction programme, optimising the critical path whilst ensuring the logic is realistic and constructable. Ensure the integrated construction programme is kept accurate for the duration of the project, maximising opportunities to reduce the critical path, and conducting detailed analysis and reporting alongside the Planning team e.g. the time impact of change events. Collaborate closely with project teams, Planners, site management, commercial, and supply chain partners; ensuring the organisation's client requirements are met. You Have Proven experience in major project delivery within a multi-contract / disaggregated delivery model as a delivery planner, construction manager, interface manager, or other relevant role.
