HSE Advisor
Support our client’s construction project in managing QHSE risks as per the local law requirements, using a risk-based approach to the protection of people, the environment, including client assets and reputation. Responsibilities:Support Project risk owners in managing HSE risks, reducing risks to as low as reasonably practicable.In cooperation with the Project QHSE Director, Package Managers, Statutory Site Manager and Contractors as the risk owners, support the risk-based approach in planning and executing the project-specific activities.Monitor and assess that Project HSE performance and report any areas of concern.Participate actively in continual improvement of protecting people, the environment and business performance in the Project.Continually enhance HSE culture and awareness across the Project.Supporting Project QHSE Advisors and Package Managers in coordination of HSE support to Project.Assisting project packages as advisor where allocated.Coordinate HSE requirements to ensure consistency and efficiency between packages, and compliance with local legislation, client Corporate management systems and processes.Where required, be the focal point of contact for Local Authorities and other key stakeholders in relation to HSE on the projects Tasks:Coordinate the works execution in a way that prevent threats to safety and health when developing technical and organizational assumptions for planned construction works, as well as their individual stages to be carried out simultaneously or sequentially and when planning the time required to complete construction works, as well as their individual stages,Coordinate the site activities to ensure compliance with safety and health protection rules during construction works, which are included in separate regulations and in the safety and health plan.Act as subject matter expert on HSE issues related to projects including, but not limited to, HSE risk management, competence and training, HSE targets and initiatives, management of (sub)contractors, incident management and legal compliance.Facilitate Hazard Identification (HAZID), readiness review and other risk review workshops.Supervise the occupational health and safety matters of all employees working in a given place.Participate in determining the scope and sequence of work and submitting comments.Determine the threats caused by various types of work performed by various entities in a given place and eliminating or reducing the threat.Inform employees' managers about violations in the application of occupational health and safety regulations and principles as well as arrangements between employers.Cooperate with people managing employees and occupational health and safety services of individual employers.Support Package Managers and Statutory Site Manager in ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS / safe work procedures.Prevent the use of methods of performing the works that directly threaten the health or life of employees and / or third parties.Ensure the cooperation between the supervisors of various teams of employees working in a given place.Support Construction Management Team in establishing communication methods and alarm procedures.Support Construction Management Team in establishing a work schedule, taking into account the tasks of all working teams.Establish good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Deliverables:HSE risk controls and processes are implemented and are effective.Monthly HSE reporting to Project QHSE Director as well as Statutory Site Manager when relevant. Decision Authority/Responsibilities:Take a risk-based approach to monitoring, evaluating and assessment of the Contractors HSE behaviour and performance.Report and escalate to Project Stakeholder if the various responsibilities of ensuring the HSE in works execution is ignored and jeopardizing the output.Immediately stop the work in case of a direct threat to the life or health of employees and take actions to facilitate removing these threats.Exclusion from work the employee(s) who does not comply with health and safety regulations. Requirements:Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing health and safety on complex, international, large-scale construction projects,Degree or similar within HSE, technical or engineering discipline,Industry recognised QHSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, Six Sigma),Have strong management skills, are experienced in working across multiple teams and implementing safe work systems,Excellent stakeholder management skills, working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally,Excellent communication skills, ability to speak, present and write Polish and English fluently, another European language is an advantage,Understanding the Polish health and safety legislation construction framework and H&S requirements,Active driving license,Valid GWO BST training and medical.Ideally, candidates should be from the Warsaw or Gdansk area. The role is based in Northern Poland and expected to be on site or in the project office a minimum of 3 days per week. Other:Occasional overtime including weekends may be required.This role runs approximately until December 2027 as a full time role with a decreasing time allocation until the end of the project. The successful candidate will be expected to be 100% dedicated to the project whilst at 100%.As part of the role, it is expected that they carry out regular offshore visits.''
