Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey
Our client is looking for a Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey to join their team.Location: Netherlands, Offshore Start date: 15/10/2024End date: 30/11/2024Duration: approx. 7 weeks Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off Scope
Offshore activities include:
Act as primary representative of our client during the geophysical survey of cable routes inside the OWF.
Monitoring the safe execution of offshore activities
Monitor Contractor onboard for effective and efficiently completion of survey activities
Communicate closely with onshore colleagues including daily vessel call, reporting progress, deviations and lessons learned.
Sign off Contractor’s Daily Progress Reports, giving comments where necessary
Working knowledge of offshore construction contracts and a base understanding of the contractual implications of breakdowns, weather downtime, and other recordable delays.
Report to Project Manager EAC
Qualifications/Certificates
Degree in Geophysics, Marine Engineering, Oceanography, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
GWO Training:
Sea Survival,
Working at heights,
First Aid
Fire Awareness,
Manual Handling.
Current valid medical certificate and examinations for offshore work according to legal requirements.
Experience
Past experience, ideally as Party Chief or Client Representative, on hydrographic survey projects
Strong understanding of geophysical survey techniques, equipment (such as multibeam echosounders, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometer, etc.), and data processing methods.
Monitoring and assessment of the quality of positioning confidence checks, calibrations and patch tests
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with maritime regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines related to offshore operations.
Utilising digital and virtual platforms
Skills
Observant and astute to any HSE matters on and around the survey vessel
Analytical skills – ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to produce a high standard of written work
Knowledge of hydrographic survey standards, such as IHO S44
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely
IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet)
Experience of large-scale infrastructure projects, including cable route surveys
Strong organisational skills with the ability to structure work to meet deadlines
The ability to respond to changing priorities and demands and adopt a flexible approach to working
Fluent spoken and written English
