Senior Finance Accountant

Athens, Greece

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team to be the key point of contact with the local bank branch, local tax and accounting provider, tax authority and any other local party. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager based in Johannesburg and work with the finance team based in London and Johannesburg where required. Key Responsibilities Managing the bookkeeping of all of our clients entities in Greece Taking care of the Monthly reporting under IFRS Taking care of the reconciliation between IFRS and Greek GAAP as per local requirements The role will work with the technical and asset management team on daily basis and be a support for the accounting and administrative matters Review tax calculations in accordance with the Tax advisor and submit to the tax office Support for the implementation of accounting system for the Oracle localization tool as per Greek regulation The individual will ideally have knowledge of the energy and renewable sector, Control of cash flow and expenditure with weekly cash flow reporting to Senior Finance Manager Data analysis and various financial query management Transaction support regarding investment reporting, due diligence and fulfilling loan conditions The individual will assist in the annual audit, preparation of financial year end accounts and statutory accounts and all finance activities related to ensuring this is done timeously and efficiently Ad hoc requests for local statutory requirements, Ad hoc requests coming from the lender, including any project finance requirements Requirements Qualified Accountant with at least 5-10 years post qualification experience Strong technical knowledge and experience in Audit and Accounts preparation Understanding and experience with VAT, WHT, Stamp duties and CIT Accuracy and attention to detail non-negotiable Knowledge or experience in Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems preferable Independent, globally savvy and critical thinker who is comfortable working in a fast-paced high- performance environment Individual should enjoy working in an international team, be flexible with an ability to work professionally and accurately under pressure and challenging deadlines as well as to prioritize tasks Proficiency written and speaking level in English
