Key Responsibilities:
Lead on aspects of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) processes for projects in various development stages.
Identify and resolve project risks, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth project progression.
Prepare, review, and submit consent application documents, ensuring compliance with environmental and planning legislation.
Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations, integrating consent requirements into project plans and schedules.
Build and maintain relationships with statutory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to facilitate efficient consenting processes.
Mentor junior staff, ensuring high-quality delivery of consent-related activities.
Skills and Experience:
In-depth understanding of national and local planning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.
Proven ability to manage multiple consent workstreams across different development stages.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Expertise in building relationships with regulators, local authorities, landowners, and community groups.
Experience in public consultation and managing sensitive issues.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, applications, and presenting to stakeholders.
Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and resolve issues with stakeholders.
Precision in preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards.
Effective collaboration with internal colleagues and external consultants.
Understanding of land rights, environmental impact assessments, and contractual obligations related to consents.
