Civil Engineering Manager

The Offshore Hybrid Asset Engineering Team is responsible for developing and constructing new Interconnectors and offshore hybrid assets. Supporting to develop and build onshore and offshore HVDC converter stations, and cable systems. Applying high voltage, low voltage, civil, geotechnical, building services engineering disciplines to create safe, reliable assets. The Civil Engineering Manager will be accountable for the overall civil design of new OHA’s across our projects. This role involves managing a team of engineers to provide design governance across all civil contractors, including but not limited to civil design houses, civil works contractors, and ancillary and building systems. The role is primarily office-based, with regular national and international travel for meetings with project partners and design consultants. Frequent visits to the converter station site and cable route are also expected. Team members are currently permitted to work up to 6 days a fortnight from home, but this is likely to change as the project develops. Key Accountabilities Ensure that all our OHA assets are safe to operate and maintain by embedding safety by design into all civil design works. Ensure that all our civil assets are specified, designed and installed in accordance with legislation and NGV technical standards. Where technical standards do not exist develop where appropriate, standards which can be used for all OHA projects. Provide line management and performance management for team members. Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know-How Experience in successfully delivering large infrastructure projects, with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. In-depth knowledge of the power industry. Technical understanding of the main components that comprise a converter station. Experience in making critical business and operational decisions with varying priorities. Our client is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their UK-based engineering team, working on utility-scale solar PV projects.The successful candidate will take full responsibility of electrical design, coordination with internal and external stakeholders and technical support across all project phases.Responsibilities Full responsibility for the electrical design of utility-scale PV power plants (DC, LV, MV and HV), including grid connection and substation-level design Preparation of electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, cable sizing calculations and technical drawings Manage and technically assess grid studies (e.g. load flow, short-circuit, protection and compliance studies) in coordination with DNOs/TSOs and external consultants Review, interpret and ensure compliance with Employer’s Requirements, UK grid codes, IEC standards and project-specific technical specifications Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, bills of materials and documentation for tendering and execution phases Technical evaluation, validation and approval of electrical equipment and supplier designs Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), testing and commissioning of MV/LV equipment Provide technical support throughout procurement, construction and commissioning phases Lead technical communication and coordination with internal teams (site managers, civil engineering) and external stakeholders such as suppliers, SCADA providers, technical advisors, clients and utilities Requirements Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field Minimum of 3 years utility-scale solar experience within an EPC environment Strong technical knowledge of PV systems (BESS experience a plus) Proficient in AutoCAD PVSyst experience beneficial Fluent in English (written and spoken) Self-sufficient, well organised, and able to manage multiple projects Willingness to travel Full UK driving licence

Job Title: Senior Solar / BESS Project Manager Location: GermanyThe RoleOur client is searching for an experienced Solar / BESS Project Manager to lead and support PV and BESS projects in Germany. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the assigned projects throughout their life cycle and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, while minimizing risks and maximizing margins.Responsibilities Manage the construction process of the project from site establishment through to final completion. Facilitate the interface between the EPC contractor and the project sponsor. Coordinate and manage the project engineering revisions. Budget control of the works and cash flows management. Direct interaction with the utilities to ensure the network connection of the generation facilities, permitting, and other regulatory compliance issues. Verify the quality implementation of the subcontracted company. Supervise the compliance of the construction with the approved design. Ensure quality and timing in the construction, development, and closure of projects. Management of all local stakeholders. Logistic management of the material supplied. Identify the sources of potential problems and proactively take preventive measures to avoid any potential project risks and determine response actions to mitigate any negative impact. Issuing periodic reports to the Company boards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or other related engineering fields. Proven history of 3+ years of project management experience in the renewable energy sector. Electrical licensing strongly preferred, related to the Solar / BESS field and HV substations. In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code, permitting, and other PV/BESS system regulatory codes. Strong leadership and communication skills, self motivated with demonstrated problem-solving capability. Flexibility to travel throughout Germany for project site visits. Fluent in both German and English.
