Investment Analyst - Wind Energy

On behalf of our client we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst with extensive expertise in renewable energy investments, particularly in utility scale wind farm investments in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the UK energy market, financial modelling, and green electricity procurement, and will play a pivotal role in evaluating and executing investment opportunities across the UK market. Key Responsibilities Deal Execution & Investment Analysis: Lead financial modelling and valuation for wind and solar farm investments Conduct in-depth due diligence, including financial, regulatory, and technical assessments of renewable energy projects Evaluate investment opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership Energy Market & Pricing Expertise: Analyse electricity pricing mechanisms and assess their impact on renewable energy investments. Monitor energy market trends and policy developments to identify risks and opportunities. Procurement & Trading: Understand green electricity procurement processes, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Support the negotiation and structuring of PPAs and trading agreements to maximise returns. Strategic Insights & Reporting: Prepare detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports for the leadership team. Provide strategic insights to optimise portfolio performance and assess future growth potential. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in energy investment, with a strong focus on wind farm investments in the UK. Preferably with prior experience in the Investment Banking Division (IBD) of a leading investment bank, a private equity fund, or an energy development-related investment firm. A track record of working on complex renewable energy deals, with significant exposure to project finance and risk management. Prior experience at a senior manager level or similar in Big Four accounting firms or similar organisations, demonstrating leadership and expertise in investment analysis and due diligence. Technical Skills Proficiency in financial modelling, investment analysis, and risk assessment. Deep understanding of energy pricing mechanisms, project financing structures, and UK energy market dynamics. Language Skills Fluent in English; Chinese preferred. Join our client in this role where you’ll work with a team of engineers to advance the work with implementation and commissioning of wind farm automation and communication systems, and where your on-site experience is key to ensure that the complete automation delivery aligns with specifications, quality and are commissioned on time. You’ll be part of a SCADA project team where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure commissioning of the systems in scope. The ideal candidate has a technical understanding of the scope, works proactively, adapts to external factors and internal guidance, understand the importance of representing back office engineers on site and step in to support where needed. Experience: Establish SCADA site presence, and act as first person site contact for technical support Act as interface between SCADA design team and the Commissioning team Participating in FAT/SAT/SIT tests and sign of as test completes Performing quality inspections and report to SCADA design team Requirements: To succeed in the role you should have experience with the following: Five years of site based installation/commissioning experience within the energy/utilities sector Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts Knowledge of Radio Communication Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies. In this role, you will be responsible for site setup, vessel movements, load-in/load-out inspections, and onsite transportation, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to HSE and quality standards. You will act as a key interface between contractors, site teams, and project stakeholders, helping to manage risks, operational constraints, and schedule impacts. Our client are seeking a skilled Foundation Installation Manager to oversee critical aspects of foundation transport and installation (T&I) for offshore wind projects. In this role, you will manage technical and commercial assessments of installation methodologies, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinate key stakeholders, including Marine Warranty Surveyors. With a hands-on approach, you will oversee loadout, transport, and installation tasks while driving continuous improvements and capturing lessons learned. If you have 3+ years of experience in offshore foundation T&I, strong project management skills, and a willingness to travel across Europe, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major offshore wind developments. Key Tasks & Deliverables Managing sub scopes of the Foundation T&I installation, incl. technical and commercial assessment of different installation methodologies and equipment Ensure quality and safety compliance of T&I contractor's documentation. Coordinate Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) acceptance – including sourcing of MWS.
