Associate – Infrastructure M&A and Debt Advisory
We are representing a leading independent investment banking advisory firm in the appointment of an Associate to join its Infrastructure M&A and Debt Advisory team in London.
Our client is a well-established international advisory platform with a strong presence across Europe, the US, and key global markets. The firm is known for providing high-quality, conflict-free advice on M&A, debt advisory, and strategic transactions to corporates, financial sponsors, infrastructure funds, and asset owners. With a strong track record in mid- to large-cap transactions, the platform combines sector expertise with deep execution capabilities across both equity and debt solutions.
The Infrastructure M&A and Debt Advisory team advises clients on complex transactions across the infrastructure spectrum, with a particular focus on power, renewables, utilities, and energy transition assets. The team is active across both M&A and financing mandates, including buy-side and sell-side M&A, refinancing, acquisition financing, and strategic capital structuring. The group works closely with sponsors, developers, corporates, and institutional investors, offering Associates exposure to a broad range of transaction types and capital structures. The team is known for its hands-on approach, lean deal teams, and high levels of responsibility at the Associate level.
Role Overview
As an Associate, you will be a core member of transaction teams, supporting the execution of M&A and debt advisory mandates across infrastructure sectors. You will take ownership of key analytical and execution workstreams, contribute to the preparation of client materials, and play an active role in managing Analysts and coordinating deal processes. The role offers significant exposure to senior bankers and clients, alongside the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in infrastructure M&A and financing.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of infrastructure M&A and debt advisory transactions across power, renewables, utilities, and broader infrastructure sectors
Build and review financial models, including valuation analyses, cash flow-based infrastructure models, and financing scenarios
Prepare transaction documentation and client materials, including pitch books, information memoranda, lender presentations, and management presentations
Assist in the coordination of due diligence processes and interaction with external advisers
Participate in client meetings, financing discussions, and negotiations
Manage and mentor Analysts, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines
Contribute to market analysis and business development initiatives
Candidate Profile
Strong academic background with a consistent record of achievement
3-4 years of relevant post-graduate experience
Prior investment banking or advisory experience in M&A, debt advisory, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors
Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
High levels of professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Infrastructure M&A, Energy & Infrastructure coverage, Project Finance, Leveraged Finance, or Debt Advisory
Experience working on transactions involving power, renewables, utilities, or energy transition assets
