Marine Operations - Project Engineer

Brooklyn, New York, United States

Our client is looking for a Marine Operations Project Engineer, who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating in-water scopes, including vessel-based work and underwater diving. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, vessel vetting departments, diving specialists, health, safety, and environment (HSE) teams, and external suppliers contracted to perform the work. Key Responsibilities:Serve as Activity Lead and oversee work preparations for in-water work, in addition to following up task executionCoordinate with internal teams to meet project objectives and deliverables, including:Port Upgrade construction teams, offshore construction team, environmental compliance team and permitting.Coordinate vessel and crew inspections, including HSE and hygiene reviews and inspections of specialized equipment (cranes, ROVs, pipe laying systems)Develop dashboards to provide schedule overviews of in-water work scopesCoordinate with the vetting department to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards such as OVIDVerify contractor’s work preparations, ensuring completeness of project execution plans, written procedures, safety plans, emergency response procedures, and thorough risk assessmentsCoordinate with internal diving specialists for under-water scopesProvide general project support for in-water scopes such as contractors performing water sampling for environmental  Minimum Qualifications5-7 years of marine operations and project engineer experienceBachelor's degree in engineering; maritime engineering, naval architecture, marine transportation, or related maritime field preferred.Knowledgeable in hazard recognition and safe working policies and proceduresStrong communication, collaboration, and coordination skillsExperienced working with suppliersHands-on operations execution experience a plus
