Our client is looking for a Permit to Work Coordinator to join their team on an Offshore Wind Project.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day administration of the General Authorisation to Work electronic permit system (GATW), advising contractors on document status and assisting/facilitating all personnel internal/external with regards to the system. Transferring cancelled or works completed General Authorisation to Work to Archive.  Ensuring the GATW  Procedure and Tier 1 Contractor Permit system is being followed by all personnel.
  • Review of pre approved Risk Assessments & Method Statement (RAMS) revisions ensuring the latest revision numbers are assigned to the GATW.
  • Review of Contractor documentation where appropriate.
  • The role involves close communication with the construction coordinators as the GATW system forms the basis of a safe system of work and attention to detail is of paramount importance.
  • On the OCP, the role will support the activities on the OCP, reporting daily to the OIM, but, maintaining link to the OSMT. On the SOV, the role will report to the Deputy Offshore Site Manager.
  • Carry out GATW system training with contractors on site.
  • Liaising with the software developer to flag issues or manage updates and system improvements.
  • Support the Marine Co-ordinators in ensuring that personnel profiles are created and completed ahead of works.
 
Deliverables
  • Upload and upkeep of RAMS received and approved database to cross checking with the Project Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) that document have been reviewed by the necessary functions.
  • Upkeep of the GATW dashboard (Layout of the Windfarm site) allocating the GATW icons to the correct asset location.
  • Upkeep of the site installation boards showing the installation of monopiles, cables, towers, and turbines through installation and commissioning.
  • First issue of the General Authorisation To Work permits and ensuring all parties keep the 3 and 7 day activity forecast up to date ahead of daily meetings.
  • Generate reports from the system as requested by the construction coordinators for audit purpose.
  • Minute daily and weekly coordination meetings.
  • Raising alerts to any perceived trends relating to HSE risks or transgressions developing onshore / offshore as they arise; e.g. Early Warning with regards to repeat GATW offences.
 
 
 
Requirements
  • All GWO basic safety training modules for offshore
  • HUET with CA-EBS (Note A valid and in-date Fit To Train certificate is required)
  • Hold an OGUK Medical including Chester Step Test (or equivalent fitness test)
  • Advantageous – Safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely
  • Strong Computer skills: MS office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) Knowledge and experience of database applications would be advantageous.
  • Able to work effectively both within a team and alone.
  • Good inter company communication skills are important as is the ability to make yourself understood at all levels. Some communication with other European companies is required although English is the contract language.
  • In house training will be given on the use of the GATW system and after an induction period it is expected the GATW coordinator would be able to demonstrate this training to others.
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Willingness to work offshore (transfer by ship and helicopter, working at sea)
