Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Offshore Substation Construction Site Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction, installation, and commissioning of offshore substations, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and project specifications. This role involves working in offshore environments, often under challenging conditions, to support the timely and efficient execution of offshore substation scope of an offshore wind project. Start Date: February 2025 - November 2025Contract Duration: 8-10 months, with a possibility of extensionLocation: Offshore and onshore, based in Taichung, TaiwanRotation: Offshore rotation, 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, 12-hour shiftsExpertise in offshore substation construction, installation, and commissioningFreelancer (must have own limited company) Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and support the construction and installation activities for offshore substation, ensuring adherence to engineering designs, specifications, and safety standards.Perform hands-on installation, assembly, and connection of substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, cabling, and other high-voltage components.Conduct and document inspections, testing, and quality control checks to ensure project compliance.Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and on-site personnel to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during construction and installation.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project timelines and deliverables, providing progress reports and updates as needed.Implement safety and emergency procedures as per company and regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.Assist in the commissioning and handover process of the substation, participating in system checks and functional tests.Document and report all activities, incidents, and maintenance tasks performed offshore.Requirements Technical certification or diploma in electrical engineering, marine engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore construction and installation, with specific expertise in high-voltage substations preferred.Strong understanding of offshore safety protocols, including valid certifications such as BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training), GWO or equivalent.Demonstrated ability to work with high-voltage equipment and related safety practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Physical fitness and the ability to work in offshore environments for extended periods.Proficiency in using technical tools and equipment relevant to substation construction and installation.Effective communication skills for coordinating with onshore and offshore teams.
